Stainless Steel prices have seen a calmer period as we enter the fourth quarter of 2022 as the Nickel price fell to US$22,000, which helped reduce alloy surcharges for August/September.
For the next quarter, we expect prices to increase as Nickel jumps to US$25000 and the pricing of rising energy costs begins to take the front stage. We have seen these costs already in carbon steel as manufacturers battle to recover a 400% increase in energy prices. The EURO and the GB£ are both battling the US-Dollar losing some 20% over the past two months. This will only add to supply costs for manufacturers and intern price increases.
Stainless Band Ltd are committed to supporting our clients during these difficult times. We have expanded our overall stocking capacity to 1500MT and can look at fixing prices to help avoid market shocks. We have also added extra capacity to our production, reducing delivery times to 14 days.
