Stainless steel prices have increased for October as we enter the final quarter of 2022. Nickel is back to US$24,000, which has seen increases in alloy surcharges for October of 5%, and there are also expected base price increases.
For the next quarter, expect prices to rise due to nickel increases, energy costs and the strength of the US-Dollar. Nickel price spikes of 10% in recent weeks point towards a possible surge in price as stocks diminish. The rising energy costs have been added by some manufacturers already, at EURO 500/MT. This cost will be passed on, as we have already seen in the steel industry.
Stainless Band Ltd is committed to supporting our clients on pricing and delivery times. The extra capacity to our production has reduced our delivery times to 1-2 weeks. We are already booking customer requirements for 2023 with fixed pricing for the first quarter.
