News / Improving Capabilities

As client demands continually increase Stainless Band has made the commitment to a program of continued investment to its Bradford Service Centre. Now, its ability to provide in-house services, has lead to increased productivity, shorter lead times and a more competitive pricing structure.

Having confidence in the future, Stainless Band have over the last year, invested heavily in upgrading its 8 slitting lines, “cut to length” line, bobbin winder and edge dresser. Making this investment has resulted in better quality slit coil products, more efficient production and improved delivery times.

Stainless Band's latest addition is a Jones 2 High Rolling Mill. The new rolling machine further extends our offering to clients. Its capabilities include variable speeds, thicknesses from 3.0mm – 0.1mm and widths from 150mm – 6mm. It also has an independent powered recoiler, which offers straightening and fully dressed edges and a tension box that ensures perfect coil build.

Having more in house services allows rigorous in house checks to identify and rectify potential problems immediately. The growth of the Stainless Band world market in stainless steel strip, coil and nickel alloy products is set to continue into the foreseeable future.
